Going to school for the first time should be an adventure for all children as they begin their educational career. But sadly, because the allocation of school places is a complex quagmire, many children every year don’t get the chance to start school with their peers.
It is a heart-breaking and distressing experience for both child and parent, affecting the whole family as they search for a solution. The problem is particularly bad in London where the population is fluid and our politicians have never come up with a sensible way of tackling the problem.
This website is for parents in the UK who are fighting to get a school place for their child. It was started by a group of Mums in London currently fighting to get their children into schools in Haringey and Brent.
It is intended to provide support, information and strength in numbers for anyone struggling with the school admissions system.
